Crafted in Fengqing County, our Yunnan White Needle is harvested from plump Da Ye (Assamica)-variety tea buds for a sweet and crisp taste. Yunnanese white teas like this offer a more economical alternative to heritage varieties from northern Fujian Province (like our Silver Needle and Silver Needle Reserve).
Yunnan White Needle is distinctly influenced by terroir and cultivar. Compared to our classic Da Bai-variety white teas from Fuding County (which offer the classic rosewater and marzipan notes typical of that region), our Assamica-variety Yunnan White Needle is decidedly bolder and zestier, with herbaceous notes of watermelon rind, alfalfa, and pumpkin seeds. The mouthfeel is light and crisp, with a persistent and aromatic finish of dried apricot.

1g per 2oz at 160°F for 2m Premium white tea is crafted from the young spring leaf buds of the tea plant. These buds are concentrated in flavor compounds and delicate aromatics, which respond best to lower brewing temperatures. The recommendations above will ensure a crisp and floral brew while limiting astringency.
